Wireless Home Security Sensor

Our Top 5 Picks:

I brought my family to my birthplace of Michigan when I assumed the childhood home left by my dear departed parents. Aside from putting up a business, I am bracing the abode against burglars now that I have refurbished it. Wherever we live, it is altered not to set off our 6 year old’s severe asthma. I worry for family protection more than the usual and give it serious thought. I sought a sure-fire solution and determined it to be a motion sensor home security product.

Customer Reviews:
"Recevied package in reasonable time. Good packing. This will make any light pole or lights to have motion sensor since it taps between your wires. Good product and idea. With this, you do not have to change and buy one of the outdoor with motion sensor. This will do the trick and make your existing lights to become motion sensor, it comes with a unit or box about 1.5 inch 2 inch and 1.5 inch box which need to be hide inside your wiring unit, if you have room, then connect the wire, and the unit will interrupt the power and not turn on when it is bright and have motion sensor when it is dark. Thank you. " – Anthony Ho "I am the man"

Customer Reviews:
"Very sensitive and large vertical and horizontal area of detection. Includes optional sensor window minimizer to reduce side sensitivity. Excellent range to base unit.
No wires so installation is a breeze, in fact you can just set it down on a high shelf.
Have not experienced any false alarms due to reflected light or any other reason - it detects motion via infrared energy... heat. Will work when pitch black or in daylight.

Has an internal antenna.
If the base unit is just out of range or operates intermittently due to a weak signal, there is a 6" internal antenna (not mentioned in the manual)connected and wrapped inside the housing. The housing can be opened and the antenna can be extended vertically out of the top of the sensor housing by cutting or drilling a small hole for the antenna to exit the housing. This will extend the range somewhat.

Customer Reviews:
"This is an additional door or window sensor for the Mace wireless system. The unit does what it must and has some nice options such as making an alert sound or only sending a silent signal to the main controller. Being wireless is a great plus because you do not need to run wires and that means there are no wires to cut or be tampered with. " – James E. Shearer

Customer Reviews:
"I installed this in the front yard near the front door. There's not a tremendous amount of light, such as for security purposes, but it's good for the sole purpose of making sure you don't bump into anything. The sensor seems pretty sharp, when I drive up in my car it goes off just pulling into my driveway. The install was pretty easy, but I feel like it has kind of a clumsy look or something. It's just personal preference though. I bought this one and also the Fulcrum Products Light-It 6 LED Porch Light with Motion Sensor for the back yard. I would give each the same type of review, except that I prefer the look of the Fulcrum and the install was easier.

Update March 25: It's still working, no battery changes yet. The Fulcrum light stopped working after a couple months.

Update June 10: It's still working, no battery changes yet. I'm buying another one for the backyard to replace the Fulcrum.

"I've had this alarm for 2 months now and just ordered a second for the back door. The door alarm is VERY loud and piercing.I would think a burglar would not bother entering a home if this alarm was set off.If you want to use the Home mode (so that it sounds off right away when the door is opened), you have a choice of selecting "chime" or "alarm."For the Home mode using "alarm" you do have to activate it with your 4 digit code but you do not need to punch in your code if you're using "chime" for Home mode.

When you set it to "Away" mode, you just need to enter your 4 digit code and leave within 45 seconds. When you come home, you have 30 seconds to enter your code to deactivate the alarm.

"I looked around for awhile to find a full functioning easy to install wireless alarm system. This one fit the bill. The key feature I was looking for was the ability to have a "chime."I needed this to know if one of my young children decided to open a window or patio door without my permission. No one else has this as an option. The only was to do it was with local window alarms only. This is controlled centrally just as a real security system should.

The instructions are easy to follow and installation a snap. You're not going to find a better system than this at this price.

Customer Reviews:
"This alarm is terrific if you're in an apartment. For a house I would spend the money to have the whole house wired, but for apartments, it does the trick. Put one on each window/door and forget about the $100's in gates and bars. I refuse to be the prisioner in my own abode with gates and bars on the windows... I live in NYC. This alarm is loud and the batteries can be tested without setting it off. If you have old wooden windows it may not line up properly but you have a half inch deviance to play with before it activates, but most of the windows in NYC are energy efficent aluminum double glass..so for $6.06 each they're a bargain. I highly recommend it for apartment living. " – trinitycause

"On our recent trip to Egypt and Jordan we stayed at the St. Catherine's Plaza Hotel in Jordan, the hotel was not very secure and had no added security locks or chains on the door.It was 7 am, I was just waking up when I heard steps coming up our staircase outside and then there was a key in our door and our door being unlocked. We had set the GE Smarthome Door alarm the night before and of course when they tried to enter our room the alarm went off scaring them away, I could hear them running very fast down the stairway.I am so glad I had bought this for our trip or we may have had an unwanted stranger in our room.I highly recommend this alarm! The HomeSafe Wireless Home Security System is equipped to curb possible thieves with dual sensors, for detecting a windor or door being moved within 250 feet or any other action up to 8 yards. Now, that is reliable!

Other than sounding a warning if either activator is set off, this motion sensor home security system calls through to 5 preset phone numbers on a tone-dialed land line. The base signal will dial the number I pre-entered as first.

A prerecorded warning of security breach is played on the line once the call is picked up. Whoever answers may hear what goes on in the room, relay his voice or disarm the system.

Now then, the base unit is set to ring the next number on the list if no one instigates a voice relay or unit disablement. Is this a smart motion sensor home security product or what?

Of the remote controls that come with the HomeSafe Wireless Home Security System, I was especially amazed by one containing a hassle-free panic button to arm or disarm the system.

To think my standards are high for a motion sensor home security system, they were fulfilled by the HomeSafe Wireless Home Security System. Our new home next to Lansing is secure, along with the antique jewelry and home office in it.
