Pepper Spray
Since my work ends at 5 pm, I go out to jog an hour later in a park nearby. I love the exercise but it has not always been fun for me. I have experienced being mugged while out jogging. I could never forget my first experience. Threats by the thief to hit me in my face left me powerless as he demanded my cash and wristwatch. I had no choice but to give him what he wanted. I did not want to get hit. After that life-altering experience, I no longer go jogging without a kind of pepper spray for jogging on the ready. It protects me from danger brought to the outdoors by wrongdoers.

"I bought this spray for protection against dogs while I jog.I really liked the velcro-elastic cover.It's awesome since it keeps the sprayer all lined up for use without having to hold onto it.I recently decided to test the sprayer.I am really glad that I did this at home and as a test.The pepper solution just ran out all over my hand.There was no 'spray' at all.I was suprised it did not burn my skin.Luckily my husband was home to turn the hose on for me so I didn't get it everywhere.

"I sprayed this for about 0.5 seconds in a 20x10 ft room, and everyone in the room was choking. If you spray this at an attacker, unless it's Michael Myers or Jason, I wouldn't worry about them having any chance of being able to withstand it. "I bought this for my wife.Hands down, this is a quality product especially for the money.The trigger system or whatever the proper term for it is, is far better than the pepper spray she had before.With the MACE design there is no way to fire the spray except when it is pointed away from you.That may not seem like that big of a deal, but if my wife needs to use it, I most certainly don't want her to spray herself!This looks like it could happen with different systems.I know I won't be using anything else. "Bought for one thing only dogs on my bike run. I do not spray them directly but small mist in front and let them run into it. All have stopped immedietly. The two ounce I carried was not sufficient and spray was very weak. This have a very good stream and you can aim easily. Only takes 2 - 5 times to stop the dogs from giving chase. Also took a small amount to my legs and face and it was painfull trying to make it home. Since I do not spray at them directly the wind changed and blew back. If you do purchase pepper spray make sure it does not come back on you when used. This is much more humane as it breaks the chance instinct quickly than having them come into the road and be killed infront of you by a vehicle. " – krom

"I bought several pepper spray devices made by sabre to test out their efficacy.I bought the home and away kit, the home defense model and this one.The main reason was for use by my girlfriend and other women in the family.We tested all four, and this one was the best by far.
This one has WAY more spray then the other small "away" spray.When all 5 of us tried it, it was quite accurate on the first shot, which is HUGE to me.The stream went about 10 feet.We all tried it several times and it still has a enough to use.Definitely impressed.However, I cannot testify to the efficacy of the chemicals as the opportunity to use it on someone is not forthcoming.

"my neighbor came home the other day and was surprised to find a stranger in her house burglarizing it. She had noticed a vehicle parked in front of her house and down a spell but didnt think anything of it at the time. Because we live in a rural area, she happened to have a can of this particular bear mace in her purse and it was the first thing that she reached for . She sprayed THE ENTIRE CAN on this guy and he hightaikled it to his car and took off. Apparently the fumes overcame him as he waqs fleeing because he smashed into someone and when the police arrived realized that it was the same guy. The article was in the local newspaper. Strangely, when I tried to look up the article I came across this update [...]puts a whole new spin on it ...turns out the "burglar' is a cop !! Gotta love California !! " – jena

Amazon is not selling what they claim to be. You will get the Sabre "New, thats now legal in all 50 states". No tear gas and no UV marking!

There are several kinds of pepper spray for jogging and other outdoor activities but I chose the Mace Hot Walkers because of its effectiveness and reliability.

"I purchased this product for myself and my daughter. It's a perfect size to comfortably hold in my hand, however, it adds quite a bit of bulk to a key ring. I like the safety lock because it keeps it from accidentally spraying, but at the same time it's very easy to unlock with just my thumb in the event I would need to do so quickly. Without realizing how potent it might actually be, my daughter did a test spray in the garage before she left for the evening. Fortunately we were not in the path of the spray, but the effects lingered in the garage for at least a half hour causing my eyes to burn and a prickly feeling in my throat. "I'm a rollerblader and have a real problem with off leash dogs attacking me (13 times in the last two years). I tried a regular spray can type but the wind affected it too much, it was pretty much useless. I was not sure about this gun because of the short barrel, how it might aim and if it would be easy to hit a target accurately. I can say now, after using it, that it's not a problem. I hit a dog running at me full speed right in the face about eight feet away. It stopped him cold. While I certainly don't like pepper spraying dogs (I believe it's the owner's fault) the only option is to get bit or knocked off my skates at ten to twenty miles per hour. No fun!
It's expensive to use but I called the police and he gave the owner two options; pay for the gun or get a $150 ticket for an off leash dog. He paid but he hated it.
EDIT: You can now buy a holster for this gun for about $20. It's well made and has a very secure belt clip. " – maak
The hand grips are covered with foam and the straps are elastic so I can use this outdoor protection device comfortably. I only need soap and water to wash it after I use it.
My Mace Hot Walkers are my buddies every time I stretch my legs outside. When I encountered a thief again, I was able to get away before he could even come closer because I had his eyes burning with this strong pepper spray.
