Egyptian Towels
I want to show you today why Egyptian towels are the best towels in the world. These towels have a reputation of being of higher quality than others that you will find anywhere. So is this true? In my opinion yes and here’s why. The first sign of quality is the name ‘Egyptian towels’. You don’t put your name to anything before you believe in its quality. The Egyptians have put their name to their towels and this must mean they are confident in them. How many other countries have done that? Have you ever heard of UK towels?
Customer Reviews:
"I ordered these towels given the reviews and the fact that the description states super plush and absorbant... These towels are paper thin, not plush in any way! I believe that the other reviews came from the seller because by no stretch of the imagination are these towels something you'd find in a fancy hotel unless you call the Super 8 a fancy hotel! I purchased these towels as a Christmas gift for my aunt and now don't have time to return them and buy something else on here. There is no way that I would have EVER purchased these paper thin cheap towels had I have known! I am pretty ticked at the false representation of these towels. Save yourself, go to Wally World and get the cheapest thing, they will be thicker than these!!! I laugh that the seller says these are worth over $100!!! haha... Poor fool that would spend that kind of money on these... Did I mention that I am SO DISAPPOINTED with this purchase!!! " – CatMer
Customer Reviews:
"These towels are OK - long threads sometimes make for pulled threads - but basically fine. You should be aware that the 'light maize' color which looks pale brown or beige in the photo is actually bright yellow. It's fine for me, since it happens to match other things in my bathroom, but I can imagine that might cause problems for other people.
Update: nearly a year later and these towels haven't worn nearly as well as some of the others we have (although the others were more expensive I think) " – Kate R. "Kate R."

"I love these towels! They're very thick, soft and thirsty. I have compared these towels with other high end towels and I find them to be superior. I highly recommend them. " – linda*vegan

"I have searched and searched for some hand towels to go in my bath these are kitchen towels, but these worked out just great. Very very nice quality and everyone wants to know were i got them. " – Kimberly Harty
Customer Reviews:
"This is the softest thickest towel I have ever seen and wish they came in adult size! I bought another one for the baby and also bought the little terry robe. One of the towels was discounted (50% off) by one of the Amazon sellers which was a great bargain. I still think it is worth it at full price.
I love all Under the Nile products, and am a regular customer - I feel I am doing a good thing for my baby when choosing organic cotton, and also support a company that has respect for its employees. There is a reason why cheap stuff is cheap - quality differences, or company uses questionable labor practices. " – Ivy

"One of my biggest problems shopping for washcloths (or anything made of fabric these days) is the industrial odor imbedded in the fabric from the factories they are made in (NOT in the USA). Even some "organically grown" items come with an odor that is difficult if not impossible to get rid of.
These washcloths 1888 Mills 100-Percent Organic Cotton Oversized Washcloth Set of 4, Leaf Green are Awesome! Super Nice, Super Soft & Absolutely NO Odor!! I 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a truly quality product! The price is quite a bonus as well! :) " – J. Lubker

"I was looking for some orange towels for our kitchen and bought several different ones. These are among my favorite. They pick up water quickly. The only draw back to them is that they pull threads. They still look great after many washings and do not run in the washer. " – Patricia Wilson
Customer Reviews:
"My husband is very picky about his towels. This is the 4th one we've tried, and it is by far his favorite. It is quite plush, gets softer with each washing, dries quickly, super absorbant, and hasn't had any major problems with loops getting pulled.I think the quality of this towel is great, considering the low price. " – Peachy Keen
Customer Reviews:
"These bath sheets are so soft to the touch.Just wrapping one around you and the wetness disappears. They are very heavy and extremely soft.As with all bedding/towels I first washed it in cold water and dried it on very low heat.It was so soft when it came out of the dryer that I could have just wrapped it around me and fallen asleep on my bed.If you are looking for a bath sheet towel this is definitely the one you want. " – Turley Hayes
If Egyptian towels are the best than that must mean that they are different from the other towels that are made elsewhere? Correct, that is indeed true. Yes they are made from cotton but that cotton is a lot thinner than the cotton from other areas of the world.
The Egyptians are quite lucky that their cotton is thinner. This thinness means that they can get more of it into a piece of a towel than you could from using other types of cotton. This will give it a higher quality feel.

"My 15 year old terry robe was wearing thin but I couldn't find a satisfactory replacement until I found this one. It is actually thicker than my old one was when it was new and the cost was about what I'd paid 15 years ago. I just couldn't believe the quality for the price. " – R. Jones
Customer Reviews:
"I wanted a fun towel for a trip to the beach this summer and these fun turtles caught my eye when I searched. The fabric is soft (even more now that I've washed it) and the stitching is pretty. The colors are great.I'm sure I'll enjoy this towel for a long time. " – Jennifer Burke
Customer Reviews:
"The towels are super soft and comfy. These are replacing bamboo fiber towels I had previously, which were soft but constantly pilled, especially if you have a short stubble. The Chelsea towels are very heavy duty, very absorbent, and very soft against the skin. " – compulsive_shopper
So what does this mean for the price? Will it be higher? The answer is generally yes. When you think about it does make sense. The thinner thread in Egyptian towels means they use more of it as we have already said. As you are using more of the materials the cost of producing it also is higher.
There is also the distance between counties that you need to think about and transport costs that into getting the final product to countries like the UK. The towels don’t have to be directly imported as it is only necessary to import the cotton. Either way the costs do add up.
The Egyptians have given us great things over the years. They have given us the pyramids and a fantastic civilization, and now we have Egyptian towels that we can use.
