"The hedge trimmer works superbly and it is so light you don't even get tired cutting 300 feet of a six foot hedge. The major downside is the battery. I read many reviews of this product that pointed out problems with battery function and so I was extra careful following the instructions and even keeping it in the house rather than the garage so it wouldn't catch a cold. After ten charges it died anyway. Good product but let's get a better battery! "These hedge clippers are a pretty good buy.. I have a lawn business, I really thought these clippers would be a little bigger in Teeth diameter. I have some pretty big hedges in my routes, these preformed ok, I must say that i will be getting 22" next time i buy a set. The battery did last along time for what i was doing, also bought extra battery for my bigger jobs.The one thing i don't like is that when you use your hedger and the battery goes dead that if the battery is to warm when you put onto charger it shows a green light. The battery must have to be cooled down for the charger to start charging ,indicated by a red light.
But thats the way my father-laws are also and he has a different brand.

"For the small price and power, I didn't have any great expectations. Was I surprized? After years of using a garden weasel to cullivate and weed a medium size garden may back and patiences were dwindling. This product finished that back breaking job in just over a hour. I was actually looking for more places to cultivate. It brought back the fun in gardening. Some areas of my garden were pretty packed, but this guy dug down and loosened everything up in fine fashion. The battery charge lasted about as long a I wanted to work before taking a quick breather. The recharge is quick, getting it back up to full speed in less than 30 minutes. Just make sure you use it with the intended purchase; culivate,aerate, & weed. Beware of large tree roots.

"Fantastic replacement blades! The American Gardener 3-Inch Cordless Grass Shears were really working hard, hated to get rid of it as the unit itself still worked like new. "Lightweight, balanced, cuts well, long-lasting battery. Today was the third time I've used it (total of about two hours). There was a POP inside the motor housing and it stopped working. It now cannot be started. I will contact the company tomorrow. If resolution is satisfactory, I will edit my rating to make it 5 stars.
Update - the good news: 4-year warranty and there's an affiliated service center in my city. The bad news: The problem was cedar twigs and needle debris clogging the trimmer, but when this occurs, it's may not be possible for the user to clear the jam without opening the motor housing, which would invalidate the warranty. So, when using it, you have to avoid holding it in a way that permits cuttings falling back onto it. That's nearly impossible when trimming anything overhead. You would have to have a ladder or scaffold or cherry picker of sufficient height. Not good.

"This top Gardena model shrubber has two 3.6v lithium-ion batteries which gives it a long running time. I've used it for 2.5 hours without recharging. Not even showing a yellow light warning of half charge.Unfortunately, that 2.5 hours included about 1/2 time not running because I had to use my manual hedge shears for about 1/2 my shrubs. It is simply ineffective for dense, internally moist and/or woody shrubs.Still, I found it useful to give my arms and back a rest from using the shears throughout. As other reviewers of other shrubbers have pointed out, you need to determine on what shrubs such a device is effective, and limit its use to them.Incidentally, the lithium-ion Gardena cuts about the same as my old NiCd Black and Decker at half the price or so, but much less running time.I also own electric-corded and gas powered hedge trimmers. "I agree with what was said in the earlier review.My own comparison is with the 10 year old B&D 22" electric that it replaced.I was impressed in that it gives up nothing in terms of power.I used it today for the first time on my 150' of hedges and lots of other bushes, especially hugh forsythias.It did all the trimming with no sign at all of battery fatigue.It's much smoother in operation than the old one.There are two things I didn't like about it.The forward handle is made so that it's only comfortable to hold at the top and not at the sides as in the old models.Also, as was said, there's not a lock-on switch.You have to hold the switch on.They did that, no doubt, for safety reasons, but that's probably where the fatigue enters.Many folks will rig up a clip to achieve the same thing. On the otherhand, the cordless grass shear is the most amazing and most desirable grass shear in my opinion. Cordless grass shears are of course cordless. That means that you do not have to think about wires around you and your equipment. You can work around every corner of your garden. There are no limits as to how far you’d want to go around your garden. The only problem is basically the amount of time you can continuously work with the equipment. Since it is cordless, it can only be powered by a battery that may take up to two hours of continuous work which is quite enough. If the battery runs out of power, you can simply recharge the battery for an hour or less. Afterwhich you can start working once again.
There are certain pre-cautions that a person should consider when using a cordless grass shear but have we discussed the cordless grass shears’ other features and the benefits we can get from using it?
