Customer Reviews:
Excellent PDA (or Pocket PC) only one of the few new models that you will see in the market. I use to be a Palm fan but turned to the dark side because there are no new palm PDA models, the Palm TX is 3 year old technology and still sells for the same price. I had this one for over 1 month and is perfect. Connects to the wi-fi internet in cafes fast and easy. I am in the medical field and I store manuals and drug information. I also bought a 2GB SD expansion card where I store all my family pictures and most of the software downloaded. It even comes with a nice leather slipcase. Never need any reset, so far no regrets! The only problem was that my desktop has Windows vista and I bought office 07, but it doesnt come with office outlook 07 that you need for the instalation and is about S/90 in amazon. No problems synchronizing with vista. Good luck.” – F. Lossio

Customer Reviews:
I have been using my Ipaq hx2795b for a couple of months now, and at first it did have frequent freeze-ups and battery draining issues, especially when using the SD card. But once I updated the BIOS (ROM) to the latest version (you can find it at hp’s website), everything works smoothly ever since. Also remember to use the latest version of ActiveSync (4.2 so far), and not the one that comes with the installation CD, and try to use the sync with MS Office Outlook 2003 instead of Office 2002 on your PC/laptop. For the above inconveniences, I’m taking one star off the rating. I believe that’s about it, and you’re all set to start installing tons of software on your Ipaq.

I use it literally for EVERYTHING (well, phone and camera excluded) -that is, agenda, customer database, ebooks, reference books, review powerpoint presentations, wi-fi, email, msn messenger, bluetooth, watch videos (you can watch entire DVD movies on it, after encoding of course), music (in my opinion it sounds even better than the iPod, was it the earphones?), games, anyway, you name it. I find the Windows Mobile 5 OS quite stable, and the interface feels pretty much the same as using the ordinary desktop Windows. The speed is impressive too. Battery life is good and it charges fast. The display is bright and clear, though I would have preferred a slightly larger screen. The fingerprint reader device is cool. I personally don’t use it though, because it delays the otherwise instant power-on of the handheld, but it stands as a great security feature for sure.

Some recommended accessories to enhance your Ipaq are: SD card (i’m already using 70% of its 2GB storage capacity, so I’ll soon be looking for an additional CF card; I think it’s less cumbersome to have both cards simultaneously in the handheld than to have to switch cards using the same slot), an extra sync/charger/car adapter (I have the BELKIN Ipaq Sync Charger F8Q0003HP), a leather carrying case, and of course, screen adhesive overlays. Some useful or must-have software are: Adobe Reader for PPC, iSilo, Resco explorer, Resco photo viewer, Resco audio recorder, Resco radio, Clearvue presentation, spb Pocket Plus, Trancreative Magic Button, Touch Notes, Pocket informant, TCPMP the core pocket media player (it plays every format that the Windows Media Player doesn’t, which are a bunch).

Overall, I’m very happy with my Ipaq hx2795b. For those thinking to own a handheld for the first time but have put off till now (like myself), this is the right moment to do it. The technology in handhelds, both hardware and software-wise, has reached to a level of reliable stability, that makes it worthy enough to try on one of these literally do-it-all gadgets. ” – N. S.

  • Pocket versions of familiar applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Removable/rechargeable batterand integrated keyboard

Customer Reviews:
I have owned almost every iPaq made to date plus a few other brands and without a doubt, the 4355 is the best by far. Yes it is a bit bigger then most of the other iPaq’s, but I do not have a problem with that as it fits so well into my hand and just “feels right” A 1560 mAh battery comes standard with the unit which is about 500 mAh more then most PDA’s resulting in a good 3-4 days usage before recharging. I spent once over two hours on WiFi at a local Starbucks and the battery was still going stronge. The WiFi setup could not be simpler, just turn on the unit, select WiFi ON and it has a “snooper” built in and will find the Wifi, add all the correct addressing information and you just connect right away. Takes no more then 10 seconds to handle this. The BlueTooth works perfectly on my HP printer at up to about 30 ft and the other nice thing I found is that the Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard has a universal Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and and I could hook into this with ease for ActiveSync. Along with that, I purchased a 512 MB SD card, a beautiful leather case by the company Piel (www.ipaqcases.com) and with those options I am all set. I find I actually use the keyboard alot and its very neat as its got a “Timex Indaglo” color blue backlight for the keyboard which is very handy. I use the unit for alot of large JPG pictures and they look stunning on the display and also maps created by MapPoint 2004 for Pocket Streets and its amazing ow fast this unit will open even a very large map (17 MB) The screen can be read outside in bright sunlite (well as bright as it gets here in Seattle) which I cannot say for many other PDA’s. The programs just “snap open” (e no waiting and rare to see the hourglass symbol) This PDA does of course run the latest PPC software which is called Pocket PC 2003 Premium. Only bad thing, but this is the custom tese days with PDA’s is no manual (partial one on the CD) So if you are new to Pocket PC’s I would get something “Everything you have always wanted to go with your iPaq” by Frank McPherson. Also its neat as the battery charger unit with the built in USB 2.0 Interface (will run USB 1 also) has a second slot for an extra battery if you want. This kind of option it usually not available or if it is, sells for a rather high price. IF you do not think you will use the keyboard that is built in, there always is basically the same model without the keyboard and that is the iPaq 4155. But this unit does come with a smaller battery (1000 maH I beleive) and I really like the long life of the one that comes with the 4355. Usually I can also find a good number of things I don’t like, but not in this model ! A clear winner in the PDA world !” – T. R.

Customer Reviews:
I have been looking for a PDA and a phone. To find this combo is perfect! I have already unlocked it and used many other carriers on this device. I gradually keep buying programs for it and load them all on the SIM card. What I love most is it does NOT have the silly keypad (although amny of them come with that attachement. I value my screen space and writing space more than anything. It does not have a great external speaker, but I only use a bluetooth earpiece and car stereo. It has become quite the entertainment device as well. I LOVE IT! I would buy this over any of the existing new PDA phones. ” – J. Ayers.
