Curved Shower Curtain Rod
Curved shower curtain rods are a good new popular bathroom item. These rods are bent to give you the feel of a large bathtub or bathing space, reducing the confined feeling you might have. The great thing about curved shower curtain rods is the price–typically the same as a standard curtain rod! This will save you hundreds of dollars over the cost of installing a new tub. It will also help add style and class to your bathroom while being a extremely practical way to increase the area of your bathtub.
Customer Reviews:
"Highly recommend. We have traveled a lot, and by way encountered all manner of shower enclosures. This product is quality, relatively easy to install (installed 2 in under 1-hour), and good looking. Anyone who has the standard cheapy rod will feel like they have arrived (at least, while they are still in the shower). Anyone who is substituting this for a glass enclosure, will feel like they just added on a room addition. " – C. Hayden
Customer Reviews:
"This curved rod is perfect for older or odd-sized bathtubs/showers that don't fit the modern standards. Many rods like this are not adjustable, and that was the main selling point for my shower. From outside the tub, I never notice the curved rod, but from inside, it's like having a newly remodeled shower with the all the extra room. " – Mike Vaughan
Customer Reviews:
"I think that this is cleanest looking shower curtain rod available - especially the end caps that cover the screws.I've also found that the curved feature does add a lot of spaciousness when in the shower.
I found that the installation was a little tricky because I had to cut about an inch off the length to get a proper fit. It's important when cutting off the tube that the exact same angle and orientation as the original end be maintained because this is how it stays in place.
I was very careful in getting both the exact measurement and correct angle so it installed perfectly, however I'm pretty good at this type thing and have all the correct tools. If you're not skilled in doing projects like this then you should get a mechanical/tech type friend (or proficient handyman) to help. Customer Reviews:
"This Old World Bronze color is a perfect match with my Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures. It feels sturdy and my contractor also had no problems installing it. Since it is an adjustable rod, there is a rubber/plastic ring that tries to cover the seam in the rod. However, this ring is not flush with the rest of the rod and thus causes a catch in the shower curtain rings whenever we open/close the curtain. Had I known about this issue, I would have bought a non-adjustable rod to avoid the seam. " – Helen S. Lam
Customer Reviews:
"I like it a lot! This MOEN curved shower rod is sleek, attractive, and does the job of providing about 6" of extra space in a standard shower/tub area. The installation was smooth and painless and the stainless steel polished chrome end caps are nice looking and simply snap into place. The mounting hardware and instructions are easy to use and clear....although getting this sucker off the wall in the future someday is going to be a challenge. I'd recommend this product....high quality stainless and chrome are used and I am confident it will last for years to come. " – Steviek1

"I'm sure this nifty shower rod must be nice, but I wouldn't know for sure since there was no mounting hardware or flanges with it.I returned it once thinking that someone made a mistake - apparently not.The second one came the same way, and with no mounting hardware to be found here on amazon.com and the flanges costing anaddition $16 or so, I chose to go with another manufacturer. It's too bad, I chose Moen because they are generally of higher quality - I guess not this time. " – Laydeebug "Mom of 5"

"Never a jam or tug when you slide back and forth your curtain. They are smooth on any surface.I have both a single curved rod and a standard shower rod with the extention so it has a bump in the middle and they glide smooth over both. " – S. Smiley
Customer Reviews:
"Though the unit is designed well and should work well, its length is not adjustable even by a few inches. Most 5 ft. shower stalls or tubs are not truly 5 ft but are either a few inches longer or shorter. Mine turned out to be shorter and hence could not use the curtain rod as provided. The designers at Moen, should have been sharper and aware of this issue when they provided a fixed length rod. You'd be better off buying a curved rod from a competitor which has an adjustable feature. " – Sethna

"was a really good buy really like it. the only problem was the screws they include in the kit are not strong and one broke when installing. luckily we had plenty of extras in the garage. dont let that sway you though, the rod is good quality and looks great, id just use diff screws.. " – Horseman

"Although the bar looks lovely if/when you are able to get it installed, the included hardware does NOT work as it should. The directions say to drill a 1/4" hole for drywall installation, so we did. We then inserted the metal drywall anchors that were included. The screws do NOT fit securely in the anchors! They just slip right out. When we tried a larger screw, the anchor fell right through the wall, creating a huge hole. We now have to repair the wall, move the bar over a few inches, and start all over.
If you buy this product, we recommend you use your own regular PLASTIC drywall anchors and coordinating screws. " – J. Manchester "Super Mom Wannabe"
Generally, these rods curve outward about six inches in the center, creating a huge amount of space in your bathing area and reducing the closed-in feeling. They also curve inward about three inches at the edges to keep water from escaping the curtain. Almost all curved shower curtain rods conform to or adjust to standard or oval tubs, making them convenient and easy to install. They are also compatible with standard shower curtains, saving you the cost of special order curtains, and meaning that you can simply use the same curtain you already have now in your bathroom.
There are numerous reasons to buy a brand new curtain rail that is curved instead of straight. They keep water in the bathtub much more efficiently, reducing splash and waste. They also give you nearly twice as much room when you are standing in the bathtub showering, creating a more inviting, enjoyable experience. They are great because they are an inexpensive and easy way to increase the usable space in your bathroom without taking up floor space. These rails are also open in all sorts of colors, materials and finishes, just like traditional rods.

"I'm very happy with this rod.It matches my oil-rubbed bronze fixtures perfectly, and the curved design looks very upscale and gives extra room in the shower. There are end caps that cover the mounting hardware, and they were a little stubborn to get them to stay put, but it looks great. "Fit a convential bath beautifully. I'm a big guy (300#) and this gave me enough room to take a shower, move around and not feel claustrophobic. The finish is good, and connection solid. Highly recomended " – Dr. Ric Green "Wolfpa"

"This shower rod is 60 inches long and it does not telescope like most shower rods.Bottom line is you only have the ability to adjust it by about an inch (tops) so you will want to measure before you buy. " – Deborah

"Item was delivered looking like it had been repacked by someone who didn't care how it arrived.Worse yet, it was missing one of the end brackets. There doesn't appear to be any recourse short of shipping the whole thing back -- and of course the packing it came in is unusable for that. What a bummer. " – David "Frustrated Buyer"
