"I use this for checking gold ore samples in the field as well as general looking at the microscopic world.
The LED light is great but I did have one problem.I left it on and the next time I tried to use it the light would not work.... dead batteries.Unfortunately the batteries cost near $5 each times 3= $15.
All is not lost however.The Rite Aid (Pharmacy) had hearing aid batteries that, while not the same type as the listed required batteries, were the same physical size butwere 1.4 volts instead of 1.5.I did not feel that this would be an issue and decided to try it.They worked just fine and were $16 for 24 of them, so about $.67 each.Much better and I now have 8 changes in case I forget to turn it off again.

"I never leave home without throwing my Kindle 3 in my purse. Most Kindle covers and cases seem to have open sides and do not fully contain the Kindle. But with the crumbs and junk that regularly appear in the bottom of my purse, I was afraid these open-sided covers wouldn't fully protect my Kindle screen and keyboard. This case fits my Kindle 3 perfectly, and still easily fits in my purse. The nylon cover appears to have thin cardboard or plastic embedded to give it a bit of rigidity for added protection. The mesh pocket holds my charger, as well as a pen and notes. Not to mention it's affordable and attractive. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star review is because it doesn't easily zip in the top right corner when my Kindle is inside, though it appears that with usage the material could stretch slightly there to make zipping easier. "This is a good case for the money. The Kindle 3 fits snugly inside. It's not likely to slide out even if you neglect to close the flap.
The cork provides a decent amount of padding. The case is comfortable to hold and not too slick.
The only downside was a little bit of grit on the inside. I would suggest wiping or blowing it out before putting your Kindle inside.
Update: After several months of use, this case is holding up well. There are no gouges or crumbling of the cork. (If you carry your Kindle in a bag full of unsheathed knives, then leather is probably a better choice.)

"I just received this skin case for my kindle and I love it.It's just what I was looking for and it's just as described.It's a harder silicone but it has softness and flexibility.It's not the type soft silicone that you can 'fold up' so I prefer the feel.It fits perfectly snug and doesn't get in the way.It was easy to get on, too.The back and edges of my kindle are now protected from bumps and scratches but still leaves the front open, which I like.The page turning buttons are covered, as is the volume button, but the skin case doesn't interfere with their functionality.The cut outs line up perfectly with the speakers, headphone jack, usb port, and power switch.You have to reach in a little more to turn it on and off, but not so much that it's bothersome.I've had it less than 24 hours, but so far it's a wonderful product. "This cover does very well to protect my Kindle. It's pretty rigid, and seems like it would repel a spill. It is pretty slim, so doesn't make it too bulky, which I like. My only gripe is that the elastic bands to hold the Kindle are not very strong. So it easily slips out of the bands. I realize they made them on the corners to not interfere with any buttons. But I think a thin, stronger band going across would've been better, and still not interfering. I like that it folds back so I can read my Kindle without removing the case. "I will say that the pink color of the TPU case is lighter then in the picture, which really isint a bad thing it still looks nice. I wanted a TPU case rather then silicon because the silicon ones loose shape after awhile from oil and stuff on your hands. Considering that You have to Hold your kindle for long periods of time. My only gripe was that the screen protector did not fit at all, and was way to big!! but I really didnt mind because the screen protector was shiny and I like the non reflective screen that the kindle has already.
